    Gumburu's Serpent Sculpture Blessing and Unveiling

    We have a fantastic new addition to our grounds at Gumburu, it is our new long awaited Rainbow Serpent Sculpture created by the very talented Townsville Sculptor Sue Tilley. The serpent weaves it's way through our rainforest garden between the dormitories and the kitchen and we have added some new landscaping along with a path that takes you through the sculpture. The Rainbow Seerpent was recently blessed by Fr Dave Lancini and unveiled by Dr Cathy Day in the presence of  Nywaigi Elders. The sculpture celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the opening of the Gumburu Catholic Environmental Education Centre.
