Gumburu Environmental Teachers

We have just held a workshop at Gumburu for our fantastic Gumburu Environmental Teachers. This program trains teachers on site about the resources that we have at Gumburu, the environment surrounding  our facility and the many activities that are available here to suit their class. We now have at least one Gumburu Environmental Teacher at each our Townsville Diocese Schools. The team and I look forward to continuing to work with these wonderful teachers and their schools throughout 2016.

Here are a few of their comments about their experience:

  • What a fabulous weekend we have all had. Thank you to all our committed teachers who have spent two days together developing their knowledge and understanding of Paluma.  Thanks Tony for your fabulous hospitality!                                                       Jodie Davey - Townsville Catholic Education Office
  • Thanks to everyone who took part in our GET weekend.  What a fabulous group of committed teachers.  It was great to meet all the new faces.  Thanks to Holly for her hard work on the modules which aims to make our lives as environmental teachers easier.  See you next year for the great food and hospitality!
Charmaine Aili (Teacher) - Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, Ingham
  • We have had a fantastic two days learning about Paluma Rainforest and all the exciting learning activities we can engage our students in. We are looking forward to bringing our Year 5 student’s to Gumburu in Term 2!
